I think the only thing that is required before taking the course, is determination, and obviously interest. There are a few drawbacks, though. Lyrics, I have to be honest isn't a good choice. Look for music, research the culture, study the lyrics of music. Waiting on a couple, and curious on how the Seediq one will turn out.

But proper translation is just something that may be hard for Cantonese and other Sino-Tibetan languages in general.

It seems they have adobe passwords which dont affect the open source versions. I think music is a good motivator for some people music junkiesalso another personal factor as to why I want to study Cantonese for a bit more than the other languages that pique my curiosity. Personally when I look at music in any language I try to understand the artist, and the message they are trying to convey, whether its rock, metal, or just simple ballads, I probably think too much about music and I try to find deeper meaning.

And I can make full use of otherwise dead time, like walking to the metro. I still find Glossika's work to be one of the best.
